本規格は,自動車ボディーのうち,スポット溶 接する接着面に,防水・防じんおよび錆止めの 目的で使用する成形タイプの熱硬化発泡スポ ット・ウェルド・シーラ(以下シーラという) について規定する。

シーラは,合成ゴムを主成分とし,これに無機 充填剤,発泡剤,その他の添加剤を配合し,所 定の形状にしたもので,塗装工程における加熱 により発泡し,その表面に不粘着性の連続した 皮膜を生じるものである。

This standard specifies the performance of the sheet type heat curing expandable spot weld sealer (hereinafter called "Sealer") used for water-proofing, dust protection and corrosion prevention of the spot-welded joint surfaces of the vehicle bodies.

Sealer is made of the main ingredient, synthetic rubber, blended with additives including inorganic fillers, foaming agents and others and the blend is formed into given shapes. Sealer can foam and expand while making non-adhesive surface film with no breaks when heated in the paint baking process.
